These terms apply when you use Price at the Pump. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

The service

Price at the Pump is a free service that shows fuel prices at UK forecourts. We may change, suspend or withdraw it, or any part of it, at any time. We aim to keep it available, but we can't promise it will always be available or free from errors.

Prices are a guide

Prices are reported by retailers through the GOV.UK Fuel Finder scheme, and we show them as reported. We don't set or check them. A price may have changed since it was last updated, or a retailer may have reported it wrongly. Forecourt details and opening status may also be out of date. Always check the price at the pump before you fill up.

Use it safely

Don't use the site while you're driving. Plan your trip before you set off, or ask a passenger to check.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape the site, or access it with bots or other automated tools to collect prices in bulk (our /api endpoints are for this site only and are not a public API)
• overload, disrupt or try to gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems behind it
• use the site unlawfully, or in a way that harms us or anyone else

We may limit or block access for anyone who breaks these rules.

Intellectual property

The site's design, text and code belong to Postcode Energy Ltd. Fuel price data contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors.

Links to other sites

We link to other websites, such as map apps for directions. We aren't responsible for their content or how they handle your data.

Our responsibility to you

The site is provided free and “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss arising from your use of it, including relying on a price that turns out to be wrong. That includes wasted journeys or paying more for fuel than shown.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. These terms don't affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data, and our cookie policy explains why we don't use cookies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the date at the top when we do. The terms in force when you use the site are the ones that apply.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
